EXPLORING THE HISTORY OF A NORFOLK VILLAGE

Martham Stories is a series of short films exploring the history of the Broadland village of Martham, in Norfolk, UK. It was made with a Heritage Lottery Fund All Our Stories grant.

Flegg High School students, local historians and Martham residents worked together to collect reminiscences on a wide range of topics including school life, the railway, village carnivals and the impact of the war years. These stories have been illustrated using animation, original drawings and a large archive of photographs collected by the Martham Local History Group and the participants.

The Short Films section starts with early history, then moves into living memory. Behind The Scenes includes the credits, a slide show of production stills and detail of how the films were made. Research Links takes you to the web sites of other heritage organisations with similar interests.
