Stories from the Signalbox
Adrian Vaughan tells a selection of tales from his lifetime of working on the railways. The stories which follow are inspired by a mixture of interviews and talks about incidents and ghosts on the railways of East Anglia.
Suicidal
This story was inspired by Adrian Vaughan's rescue of a young woman contemplating suicide on the railway. The team imagined the circumstances which might have led to her moment of desperation.
The Signalman's Ghost
This little tale tells the story of the ghost of a signalman who would mysteriously appear and disappear at a station in North Norfolk.
The Baby Farmer
This short animation was inspired by tales of how during the nineteenth century unwanted babies would be taken by train to often unscrupulous intermediaries known as baby farmers. They would then pay to find the child a new home. Does this tale have a happy ending?
